How to Get Away With Murder 3x02 Top Five

I feel like this is about to be my favorite season of How to Get Away With Murder.  Why? Because it's only the second episode of the season and i've had multiple OMG moments.  Peter Nowalk and the team are already writing the hell out of this season!

5. Asher

How can you not love him?!

Do I really need a reason? The comments. The dancing. Its nice to see him back to basics after his crazy/strange storyline last season.  And this Asher and Michaela friends with benefits thing brings much needed entertainment to an otherwise edge of your seat show.

4. Keating Five aka Mystery Inc

I LOVE that they're trying to figure out who is after Annalise but here's the issue.  They always find themselves in trouble and I think that the scooby gang going after this person is what leads to a burning house and dead body.

3. Laurel and Wes

I just want them to kiss again.....

I used to get brother and sister vibes from them but after that kiss last season....I think we all know where this is heading and I'm actually excited for it. I'm a sucker for a good romance.

2. Connor said what...??

He told someone that he killed a guy.  AFTER TWO SEASONS OF BEING QUIET YOU DECIDE OH YEAH TODAYS THE DAY? I don't care what the reason was. It was stupid. Also....yeah I'm not upset about the Connor/Oliver split.  We know its temporary and even if it isn't they make each other boring.  I feel like this relationship needs drama to thrive.

1.) Bonnie!

Don't look shocked Bon Bon it surprised me too.

Never ever thought that she would be number one on my list but I very much enjoyed Bon Bon this episode. She showed that she can still get stuff done even when there's not much for her to do story wise. Bonnie, Annalise, and Laurel teaming up to track down Frank? Yeah that's going to be fantastic.  Making Laurel call her dad? I really can't wait for next week.

Who ISN'T under the sheet: Annalise, Oliver (which makes me lean even more toward one of the Keating Five)

Once Upon A Time Rants & Raves: The Savior 6x01

Nothing feels better than sitting down for the first show of a new season. Once Upon A Time is back and I actually have a really good feeling about this season! We're back in Storybrooke and there are a lot of new players in town so lets jump right in! SPOILERS BELOW.

Rave: Mr. Hyde

I love everything about him. He honestly just doesn't care and we haven't seen that in a while.  I may be a little biased since I was a fan of Sam Witwer's run on Smallville but the way he plays Hyde is going to bring a completely new dynamic to Once.

Rave: Snow and Regina

Quickly becoming my favorite duo

The conversation that they had a the end of the episode had me hanging on every word.  It's honestly a conversation I've been waiting for them to have since Neverland.  We actually get verbal acknowledgement of their mother/daughter relationship in a positive way.  Snow credits her hope and faith to Regina and in turn the former queen of evil recognizes her new found faith.  Bonus Rave: Is it just me or does anyone else notice that Lana Parrilla is playing Regina a little differently? I'm all for it! Without the evil part of her its almost as if this Regina is a completely new character.

Rant: Our Trusting Heroes

Why, after everything that they have been through, are our heroes so trusting?!  Snow and Charming in the woods speaking to the people from the Land of Untold Stories.  How do you know they're actually good people?  Emma speaking to Mr. Hyde.  We know he's evil! Why are you taking him at his word? STOP DOING THIS.

Rant/Rave: Zelena in Regina's house.

I'll hold my grudge until the very end

This honestly could've brought us so many quotable moments.  They would've been great. However, as a proud Evil Regal I absolutely refuse to forgive and forget. Rave: Parrilla and Rebecca Mader play against each other so well. I love watching scenes with them. Rant: Zelena impersonated Robin's dead wife and got pregnant just to rub it in Regina's face.  I'm still bitter about it.

Rave: Saviors!

Love seeing season once characters! They still exist!

Not only is there more than one savior but apparently they're all doomed.  Why is this a rave? Cause I love when Once gives us a problem to solve. Going to the underworld to save Hook is a mission. Operation Cobra? That's problem solving! And it looks like our main problem is not only how do we save Emma but how do we prevent Emma from losing her mind. Cue Archie!!!

Rave of the Night: BELLE IS DONE WITH RUMPLE!!!! Hopefully it sticks this time....

Rant of the Night: Literally 2.5 seconds worth of Evil Queen.

First thought: Apple Martini.....its probably poison.

Geek Moment of the Week:

Anytime Belle wears the yellow dress its a moment.  Anytime Belle is in the yellow dress and they're playing that beautiful instrumental version of Beauty and the Beast its a moment.

How to Get Away With Murder Season 3 Premiere

My soul wasn't ready for How to Get Away With Murder. My body wasn't ready to be slayed Thursday after Thursday but its that time of year again. New school year. New class. New murder. The season premiere clearly stated that things were going to be a little different this season and I'm all for it.  A show with a format like HTGAWM can easily become dated and boring but the few things that were changed seemed to give the show new life. As usual with a Shondaland show I'm going to list my top five moments from this episode.  SPOILERS BELOW.

5.) New Hair for Everyone!

Laurel: Season 1 vs Season 3

I love that the show is actually changing things up with how the characters look! It's something small but new hair styles on some of the characters shows that time has passed and things are changing with the characters themselves. Something as tiny as a style change can add to character growth.

Annalise: Season 1 vs Season 3

4.) Annalise is being nice....?

She's being genuinely nice to the Keating 5 and Bon Bon in the flashbacks! It's nice to see a different side to her. Perhaps it was the Annalise we would have gotten had they not killed her husband but I'm digging the attitude change. It makes her much more likable person and it's nice to see how easily Viola Davis can switch between the different versions of the character.

3.) Nate.

Not from season 3 but you get the point

They'll find any reason to get his shirt off.  I'm here for it.

2.) Frank...

RIP Beard. You've been good to us.

I don't get what Frank is up to. I don't think he killed Wes' Dad.  I think that would be too easy.  I think he'll do anything for Annalise even if she doesn't realize that it's what needs to be done.  I think he loves Laurel.  I'm excited to see where his storyline goes this season.  I'm extremely upset that he shaved his beard....it was my favorite character.

1.) The Last Two Minutes

There's a body.  Annalise is screaming NOOOOO in the middle of the street.  The house is on fire.  My guess is that this season someone is after them and it's not going to be the Keating Five trying to cover up a murder (finally).  It looks like every week we will find out one person who is alive.  I've already seen many guesses that the body is Frank or BonBon but again I think its too easy.  I think it's one of the Keating Five. It's Shondaland.  No one is safe.  We'll have to watch week to week to find out who is safe.

MVPs: Orange is the New Black Season 4

After a serious three day binge watching session I've finished season 4 of Orange is the New Black and you know what? It's the best season yet. The story is relevant, the acting is brilliant, and it's like series was given new life. I won't be spoiling anything major here but I will say that this seasons MVPs (yes, more than one) really carried the show to a different place.

1.) Taylor Schilling made me like Piper again! After season 3 and her kingpin (queenpin?) persona I grew incredibly irritated by Piper's shenanigans. This season picks up right were we left off but as the episodes go on we see a whole new side off Piper. Vulnerability. Remorse. Humility.

2.) I'll be the first to tell you that Alex Vause is my favorite OITNB character. Laura Prepon this season was amazing. She clearly survives the attempt on her life in the season 3 finale and Prepon's acting ability shows a completely different side of Alex.

3.) DANIELLE BROOKS. If there isn't an Emmy nomination in her near future than it will be a damn shame. I cannot say enough great things about her this season. If you watch season 4 for any reason then watch it for Danielle Brooks.

GoT: Battle of the Bastards

This episode of Game of Thrones was everything. EVERYTHING. The Battle of the Bastards did not disappoint. The battle itself was epic. The episode was outstanding. There was so much going on. Meereen. Winterfell. Daenerys. Sansa. Jon. Ramsey. I don't even know where to start.
Spoilers Below!!!!

My favorite scene in GoT is when Dany gets her army. Or it was until tonight. We pick up right where we left off in Meereen with Daenery's returning to the Masters attacking her city.  Her plan? Defeat her enemies and burn their cities to the ground. Tyrion compares her to the mad king which he has done before. They decide to meet with the Masters to speaks on terms of surrender.  According to Dany her reign has just begun. She climbs on Drogon and flies towards to the boats that are destroying her territory. The camera cuts to a breaking wall and a ball of fire and the we see what I've been waiting for since forever. The two dragons that were locked away? They're out. All three dragons and their mother in the sky. Daenerys says the magic word and all those boats are on fire. Greyworm kills two of the masters and tells the third to spread the word. THE MOTHER OF DRAGONS PLAYS NO GAMES.

"My reign has just begun." - Daenerys Targaryen

I'd also like to point out that Dany did all of this dressed in Dothraki clothing.  I'm looking at this not only as a call back to season one but as Dany becoming Khalessi once again. She was promised the Iron Throne as a Khalessi and if this is any indication, she'll take the Iron Throne as a Khalessi.

And as an added bonus the Iron Born have reached Meereen (quickly I might add) and both Dany and Yara clearly respect a woman in power and a deal is struck. One now has the ships she needs to cross the Narrow Sea and the other has the support to rule the Iron Islands. If you're keeping count we now have a Targaryen, a Lannister, and two Greyjoys in one place.

Over in Winterfell the Battle of the Bastards starts in a way I honestly didn't see coming. Rickon Stark is dead and Jon Snow is PISSED. Hats off to Kit Harrington because I've never seen Jon this angry.

Jon Snow facing the Bolton Army

The battle is brutal and just when our army is surrounded and we almost lose Jon (I couldn't breathe through this part) the Knights of the Vale show up and its clearly over for Ramsey. Inside the gates of Winterfell, Jon gives Ramsey the worst hand to hand beating I think I've seen on the show but doesn't kill him. Seeing this made me question everything I've learned in 20+ years of watching television. Things such as: WHY DIDN'T YOU KILL HIM JON? HOW COULD YOU LEAVE HIM ALIVE JON? BE SMARTER JON.

GoT answered every question. They gave me everything I wanted. After the Stark banners were returned to their rightful place Sansa asks where he is. Ramsey Bolton is tied to a chair in a cell. He tells Sansa that she will never be rid of him and his name will live on, adding fuel to the pregnancy theory fires. What does Sansa do? I'll tell you what Sansa did.

"You're going to die tomorrow, Lord Bolton. Sleep well." - Sansa Stark

She tells him that no part of him will live on and apparently she also let the dogs out. Ramsey's dogs. The same dogs that ate his step mother and brother. The same dogs that haven't eaten in seven days. Sansa watched as the dog started with his face and ate the rest. All I wanted was for her to slit his throat. This was so much better..........I'm fully aware that this show has turned me into a horrible person. Who cares? #TeamSansa

The game has changed on all fronts.  The Starks hold the North once more. The Targaryen Queen is one step closer to the Seven Kingdoms. Season 6 is not only the season of the women but its the best season of the series. I'm SOOOOO looking forward to the finale next week.

Finally Time to Defy Gravity

I've been waiting for this day since October 2009. I was a freshman in college walking through the heart of Times Square. My mind was blown into a million tiny musical pieces. I'd just experienced my first Broadway show and I've been a theatre nerd ever since. I stood at the gates of Oz and I followed the yellow brick road until my heart was bursting with joy. If you couldn't tell by now I saw Wicked and I was changed for good (I'm sorry I'll stop now I swear).

After years of movie buzz Universal's Wicked now has a release date of December 20th.....2019. It's still a few years away but a date means we're one step closer!! The next big question is casting. The OBC (original Broadway Cast) is nothing short of iconic. Idina Menzel (Enchanted, Frozen) snagged the 2004 Tony for her portrayal of Elphaba a.k.a. The Wicked Witch of the West and Kristen Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies, Glee) scored a Tony nom for Glinda.

Watch below as Idina and Kristen sing For Good after 12 years.  I'm so ready.

Not A Bird. Not A Plane. Not A Man. It's About Time

I was trying to wait until the mid-season finale to talk about Supergirl. I wanted to be able to look at the show from pilot to hiatus before I put my likes and dislikes out there. I almost made it. One episode until mid-season and the show gave me one of the biggest surprises of any show this season. And it was freaking GREAT.

Much like Arrow (another show from Greg Berlanti) I was skeptical about watching Supergirl.  Being a fan of Smallville I already had my version of the Green Arrow. When the cast of Arrow was announce the only person I'd heard of was Katie Cassidy (Melrose Place), I didn't know what character she was playing but it wasn't a big enough draw to get me to watch (had I known she was playing Laurel Lance I probably would've watched sooner). In fact I didn't get into the show until the summer before season three. When the cast of Supergirl was announce I knew I was going to watch. Melissa Benoist was the shinning light on a not so great season of Glee. She was one of the only two new characters I liked on that show and I had faith that she could play the Girl of Steel. After all, Grant Gustin also came from Glee and now we know him as The Flash.

Mehcad Brooks I knew from Desperate Housewives and True Blood. The fact that he was playing Jimmy Olsen, traditionally a white character, was also intriguing.

Next up was the roll of Cat Grant generally know as a nemesis of Lois Lane herself. They cast Calista Flockhart well known from Ally McBeal and Brothers and Sisters. Then of course there was Helen Slater and Dean Cain both known to the world of Superman.

Slater and Cain as The Danvers with young Kara played by Malina Weissman

But I'm not going to lie to you. It was the announcement of Chyler Leigh, formally of Grey's Anatomy that convinced me to watch. I don't think I'll ever be over the death of Little Grey....R.I.P. Lexie.

I was hooked five minutes into the pilot. The promo for this show didn't do it justice. Supergirl is a great superhero show and Melissa Benoist is a bonafide star. After only 7 episodes I think its safe to say that the show has sealed itself as a great mark in the Superman universe. Maybe it will create a universe all on it own.

So as for tonight's episode: SPOILERS BELOW.

We've known for two episodes that Hank Henshaw had something to do with Daddy Danver's death. We've known for a while that he wasn't exactly human either. Was he an alien? Was he a robot created to kill kryptonians? That's was everyone thought. Oh. OH. WE WERE SO WRONG.

Don't red eyes automatically mean evil?

Okay so he is an alien. But when confronted by Alex about her father he showed his true colors. Comic and cartoon fans of the DC Comics world may have been able to put it together before the big reveal. I myself was freaking out half way through his confession. I wasn't expecting full visual but oh my god. OH MY GOD. He said his name was J'onn J'onzz. THE MARTIAN MANHUNTER.

If you don't find this to be extremely cool you're lying to yourself...

So if we want to get technical we've already had three members of the Justice League pop up in National City (Red Tornado, Martian Manhunter, and Superman). Like I said, next week is the mid-season finale and it looks like Kara and Aunt Astra (Laura Benanti) are gonna have a big fight which is always interesting.

I can't wait to see what they're going to do for season 1B but whatever it is I'm so ready. Given time I truly believe that this show has the potential to be just as great as the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series. Maybe not in the same capacity. But great. IN BERLANTI WE TRUST.
